Fernando Barceló won the Junior Spanish Cup in Cervera de Pisuerga

Fernando Barceló won today the Junior Spanish Cup in Cervera de Pisuerga (Palencia) in the fifth and final round of the challenge, after a dramatic final in which a fall at 50 meters from the finish line deprived him of the victory when he was already alone and cost him to finish  third.

Despite the fall and crossing the finish line virtually walking, Fernando Barceló successfully defended his lead in the Cup of Spain, although the Specialized-Foundation Alberto Contador lost the overall, which was beaten by its great rival throughout the year, Castle Onda, who also won this last race by Juan Camacho.

Diego Pablo Sevilla completed the final podium of the Spanish Cup in second position, while Iosu Angoitia won today the Mountain, after a great job in the last part of the race in favor of Barceló, like Alvaro Cuadros, that today also gave everything for his teammates, who completed a magnificent performance.

Within a week of the Spanish Championships of this category, that will be played next weekend in Murcia, where the Spacialized-Alberto Contador Foundation will be present with 12 of its 14 riders, the team of Jose Luis de Santos showed today a great form so far as only the misfortune of Barceló when the race was in his hands deprived it of a more forceful result, though its final podium as winner of the Cup of Spain showed the work done by the team throughout the season.
