Alex Martín starts the Spanish Cup with victory and leadership in the Cabedo Trophy

Alex Martin was in charge this weekend of climbing to the top of the podium in the Polartec- Kometa junior, which thus began with victory the participation of the team in the Spanish Cup, while also achieving the provisional leadership in the first weekend of Cabedo Trophy, which will culminate in seven days.

The Polartec-Kometa tried to break the race in the last major climb, still 40 kilometers from the finish line and that’s how it was, leaving in the lead both Alex Martin and Carlos Rodríguez in the group of the chosen ones.

In a first attempt Rodríguez went ahead with another rider, while behind them were three riders among which was Alex Martin. After a strategic regrouping, Alex Martin attacked about 20 kilometers to go and left alone, while behind Carlos Rodríguez was guarding his rivals.

After consolidating his lead to the finish, Carlos Rodríguez attacked from behind to win the second place, in addition to proclaiming himself the winner of the Mountain and leader among the first- year riders. Polartec-Kometa also won the team classification thanks to Juanjo Rosal (13th), followed by Manuel Garrido (14th).
