“En tres años se verán los frutos del trabajo que estamos haciendo”
Félix García Casas, ex corredor profesional, seleccionador nacional de ciclismo adaptado y, desde esta temporada, director deportivo del equipo Flex junior de la Fundación Alberto Contador, además de director de la Escuela Ciclista, hace un balance muy positivo de la primera parte de la temporada que han hecho sus nuevos pupilos.
“En lo que llevamos de año lo que destacaría de este equipo es la solidez. Los chicos están evolucionando, corren muy compenetrados y estoy sorprendido de cómo a esta edad están gestionando las carreras”, dice orgulloso. “Empezamos muy bien el año, con una buena racha de victorias, aunque ahora llevamos un mes en el que las cosas no nos salen tan bien en cuanto a triunfos por unas razones u otras, pero aun así se hace un trabajo formidable”, explica García Casas, “como el que se vio en Besaya, donde ganamos una etapa y la general por equipos, o ahora en la Bira, frente a una participación de lujo. Hay corredores, como Ballesteros, que están en un estado de forma fantástico y a los que sólo les falta ganar”.Victorias, en todo caso, no faltan, como la última de Ángel Fuentes este último fin de semana, proclamándose en Burgos campeón de fondo en carretera de Castilla y León, tras haber conseguido el mismo título contra reloj.
