Victoria en la primera prueba de la Copa de España junior
El Specialized-Fundación Alberto Contador se anotó dos nuevas victorias este fin de semana en Villareal, sumando un total de 18 victorias, la última de ellas, la primera prueba puntuable de la Copa de España junior, disputada hoy.
El sábado, el equipo junior dirigido por José Luis de Santos ganó su primera contra reloj por equipos, disputada sobre 9,5 km llanos, pero muy técnicos, en Villareal. El equipo lo integraron Enric Mas, Cristian Torres, Diego Pablo Sevilla, Álvaro Cuadros, Fernando Barceló y Iosu Angoitia, que superaron por 4 segundos al Castillo de Onda y por 16 al Terra y Mar.
Hoy domingo, el Specialized-Fundación Alberto Contador corrió, también Villarreal, el Memorial Joan Bautista Llorens, primera prueba puntuable para la Copa de España, sobre 110 kilómetros y con 115 participantes.
El mallorquín Enric Mas consiguió su primer triunfo de la temporada al imponerse en el sprint a su compañero Álvaro Cuadros y a Héctor Carretero (Castillo de Onda), que se habían destacado de la definitiva fuga de seis corredores que decidió la prueba, integrada también por Diego Pablo Sevilla (Specialized), Cristian Rodríguez (Bathco) y Erlend Sor, que entraron por este orden en meta.
El Specialized-Fundación Alberto Contador ganó las Metas Volantes con Sevilla y también logró la victoria por equipos. Gracias a la actuación de este fin de semana, el equipo de Alberto y Fran Contador se ha adjudicado el I Trofeo Víctor Cabedo, una clasificación por puntos que incluía las últimas cuatro carreras disputadas en la categoría junior, y que ha ganado también Enric Mas, líder provisional de la Copa de España, seguido de Xavi Pastallé y Héctor Carretero. Diego Pablo Sevilla es el líder entre los juniors de primer año, Miguel Ángel Ballesteros domina las Metas Volantes y el Specialized es líder por equipos, seguido por el Castillo de Onda.
