Great level of the promising young in the II Camp of Alberto Contador Foundation

On Sunday it was closed in Zaragoza with a bike out of all participants, the II Selection Camp Selection of Alberto Contador Foundation, which has sponsored this season the chain of Italian restaurants ‘The Mafia sits at the table’. “It will be very difficult to choose the eight new riders who will be integrated into our junior team because the sporting and human level of group of 36 cyclists who have met this year is actually very high”, said Fran Contador, team manager of Flex-junior and Specialized-U23.

Fran Contador described the last weekend in Zaragoza as “a great experience for everyone. The Camp is much more than a simple selection of cyclist, offering an opportunity for young riders to meet, to live in a different racing environment, to make new friends and also start to know from inside the Alberto Contador Foundation, in which eight of them will be integrated very soon”.

The manager of the Foundation also acknowledged the great support offered by ‘The Mafia sits at the table’ as sponsor of this event, «the same as the Zenit Hotel Don Yo in Zaragoza, which has been our headquarters, the Lyceum College Europe and Ángel Santamaría pool, scene of many activities scheduled throughout the weekend”.

Elena Corzan, responsible for Social Action at ‘The Mafia sits at the table’, said for his part that for this restaurant franchise,»the Selection Camp was the first live contact between the Alberto Contador Foundation and us, which has allowed us to live for the first time cycling from a human perspective, not only as a competitive sport. We liked very much support these guys and give them this opportunity”.

For the sponsors of this Camp has been especially important «that it has been organized in Zaragoza, our base camp, which has also allowed the boys to know the company closely and our healthy cuisine in our restaurants, for which we have also had the support of some of our suppliers, as Veri and Stracto “.

Following the closing of this II Selection Camp, in less than two weeks will be announced the names of the eight elected riders, as well as the final composition of the junior and U23 teams for next season, which means the start of a new campaign, the third of the teams of the Alberto Contador Foundation.
