La Fundación Alberto Contador ha cerrado las plantillas de sus equipos para la temporada 2015, en la que contará con un total de 31 corredores, divididos en 17 ciclistas en el Specialized-Sub23 y 14 en el Flex-Junior.
El último paso para decidir los corredores de la Fundación para la temporada 2015 fue el II Campus de Selección ‘la Mafia se sienta a la mesa’, celebrado en Zaragoza los pasados 3, 4 y 5 de octubre, de donde han salido los nuevos ocho corredores que se integrarán en el equipo Flex-Junior.
Junto a ellos, la gran novedad de este año ha sido que las bajas del equipo Specialized-Sub 23 se han cubierto exclusivamente con corredores provenientes del equipo Flex-Junior, del que llegan nada menos que ocho ciclistas. Junto a ellos se incorpora este año el primer corredor extranjero, el belga Kenny Molly, proveniente del equipo Tielste y que ya ha disputado con éxito este año varias carreras integrado en la formación junior.
La colaboración con el Tielste junior continuará el próximo año gracias a la firma de un acuerdo de colaboración por el cual los corredores de ambos equipos podrán correr en las filas del otro cedidos por su escuadra de origen, con la idea de acelerar su formación y conocimiento de un ciclismo totalmente distinto al de su país de nacimiento.
2015 será ya la tercera temporada del proyecto deportivo de la Fundación Alberto Contador, la tercera del equipo Junior y la segunda tanto para el equipo Sub 23 como para la Escuela Ciclista Plaza Éboli, de Pinto. En el staff técnico seguirán al frente de la dirección deportiva los ex profesionales Rafa Díaz Justo (sub 23) y Félix García Casas (junior y escuelas).
“Nuestros objetivos para la próxima temporada son seguir con el trabajo de formación tanto en las escuelas como en el equipo junior, que ya se ha convertido en referente de su categoría, así como consolidar el equipo sub 23, que contará con una estructura más madura, con cuatro corredores de tercer año, lo que nos permitirá aspirar a disputar clasificaciones como la Copa de España, tanto individual como por equipos”, dice el mánager de la Fundación, Fran Contador
