Alberto Contador will present on Monday in Segovia their 2014 Under 23 and Junior teams

Alberto Contador will host, on Monday 17, Segovia, the official presentation of the Under 23 and Junior teams launches by his Foundation for the 2014 season.

After the success of the Junior team in its inaugural season, Alberto Contador Foundation has expanded its commitment to support the cycling roots creating Cyclist School Princess of Eboli in Pinto, maintaining the Junior team and, above all, the creation of a new team in the next higher category, Under 23, which completes this year a structure that will accommodate 28 young talents, among which may well be the future stars of Spanish road cycling.

The official presentation of the teams for the 2014 season will take place on Monday, February 17, at 11:30 am in Segovia, thanks to the sponsorship of the City of this Castilian capital. The event will be held in the same place than in 2013, at the Exhibition Hall of the Creation Centre ‘La Carcel».

The event will be attended by Mayor of Segovia, Pedro Arahuetes, and the main sponsors of the Alberto Contador Foundation, Specialized Spain, sp of the Under 23 team and co-sponsor of the Junior, will be represented by Miguel Rojo, CEO for Spain manufacturer of bicycles and components. The Flex group which is incorporated this year as main sponsor of the Junior team will be represented by Gerardo España, marketing director , while the firm of  Flexible Renting  Northgate, which adds to the project as provider of vehicle fleet to the Foundation , will be represented by its CEO, Fernando Cogollos.

In addition to Flex and Northgate, this year also arrive at the Alberto Contador Foundation companies like Hero, as provider of food products, and Training Peaks, which provides an advanced software program to control and direct riders training, like do Alberto Contador and his teammates at Saxo-Tinkoff team.  Continue to support Alberto Contador Foundation the same sponsors that already did so in 2013: Sportful, Sram, Rotor, ZeroRH +, Bes-T, CocaCola, Etixx, John Smith, Look, Sportlast, Mio, Hotel Princesa de Eboli, Scicon and Tacx.

2014 Specialized and Flex teams will have a total of 28 riders. In the Flex-junior team six men continue, while the remaining eight were elected last September during the First Cofidis Selection Campus, held in Pinto with the assistance of forty riders.

The Specialized-U23 team, meanwhile, is formed by five riders from the Alberto Contador Foundation Junior Team, plus the addition of nine riders coming from different teams across Spain.

Former professional rider and former national coach Jose Luis de Santos will take over the sports direction of the Specialized Under 23 team, while fellow former professional rider Felix Garcia Casas, current coach of national adapted cycling team, will take the responsibility of the Flex Junior team.

Alberto Contador will not want to miss the official launch of his Foundation teams in 2014, but from there, after attending to the media, he directly will depart to Portugal to start his own calendar of competitions in the Tour of Algarve, starting on Wednesday 19th February.
